After years of not knowing where my sister was, we finally received word that she had been found. It was an incredibly emotional and complicated situation, but this funeral home stepped in when others would not. They handled every detail with care — from taking custody of her remains in New York, to completing the cremation, and ensuring her ashes were safely transported to Alabama so our family could finally lay her to rest. Patrick’s kindness, patience, and understanding during such a difficult time meant more than words can express. Simple, Basic Direct Cremation

$1295.00 Funeral Home Charge Only

We provide the following service:

Local transfer from place of death
Securing all necessary authorizations for cremation
Filing the death certificate and ordering certified copies of the death certificate and securing disposition permit for cremation from the local Municipality
Notification to Social Security Administration
Alternative Cremation Container, required for cremation by the Crematory
Transfer to the Crematory and the return of ashes in a temporary container provided by the Crematory

What is NOT included:

Certified copies of death certificate: NYC $15.00 per copy and NYS $10.00 per copy
NYC Disposition permit $40.00 (NYC Only)
$20.00 NYC processing & shipping fee of death certificates from NYC Dept of Health via UPS

The purchase of a casket is NOT a requirement for Direct Cremation; however, you may select a casket at an additional cost in lieu of the Alternative Container, especially when there will be a viewing.

We are a full-service funeral provider offering everything from an affordable, low-cost cremation service to any type of funeral of your choice, as well as shipping funeral home to funeral home, domestically or internationally for final disposition.

Viewing/Services may be held at your place of worship (if permitted) in lieu of the funeral home.

AFFORDABLE GRAVESIDE SERVICES

Affordable Graveside services provided at all Cemeteries for any religious denomination

We also specialize in the caring of Jewish funeral services, may it be at graveside or a service held at your Temple or Synagogue. We can also secure a Rabbi on your behalf if needed or, you may contact your family Rabbi to conduct the funeral service if you wish.

All Jewish funerals arranged by Suburban Funeral Service are in accordance with Jewish law and under the supervision of your Rabbi.

In a private area of our facilities, our Chevra Kadisha (Holy Society) can perform the Tahara (Ritual Washing) and Shemira (Watcher of the deceased) according to Halacha (Jewish Law).

We have a selection of all wood construction caskets, which are in accordance with Jewish law.

We make burial plans with all Jewish Cemeteries in the Metropolitan area. If you do not own cemetery property, we can assist you with guidance in purchasing a plot.

Please give us a call to discuss your options and receive an accurate price quote. Most Graveside services start from $4995.00, however, this charge does NOT include the cost of a casket or any cemetery charges, death certificates, permit fees where applicable, and any clergy.

A traditional Jewish graveside service with a plain pine casket will cost $6490.00, plus cemetery charges.
